Jack Daniels Holiday Barrel Tree Hits Manila

Asia’s First Jack Daniel’s Holiday Barrel Tree

Celebrating the holidays with Jack Daniels in Manila

Holidays here in Manila is made even special with Jack Daniels around.  Where tradition and family, community and togetherness are already at the heart of this time of year, in Manila we are being treated to a symbol of all these that’s also bound to one man’s independent spirit and belief in what this season is about.

Celebrating the Holiday Season 2014 in Manila has been intensified with the presence of JACK DANIELS Holiday Tree Barrel on two separate locations around the metro. This Lynchburg Tennessee holiday tradition is very famous across the US, Canada and United Kingdom, and now the very first in all of Southeast Asia. Manila indeed is an exceptional spot for the world renowned traditional holiday ceremony lighting of the huge jack daniels holiday tree barrel.

The Jack Daniel’s Holiday Barrel Tree is more than just a symbol of the holidays that has traveled the world. It stands for a community that has built a tradition together, this annual tradition started by the men and women of Lynchburg. That the Lynchburg community would create its identity around the making of Jack Daniel’s is no surprise. Yet the man behind it all, Jack Daniel himself was not one to let them forget about the importance of family and togetherness, no matter the demands of building America’s oldest registered distillery.

Jack Daniel's in Tennessee is the oldest registered distillery

This inspired the men and women of Lynchburg Tennessee to create the annual tradition of the Holiday Barrel Tree – made from the very barrels used in maturing Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, a symbol of their hard work and persistence, but more importantly a reminder of the value of gathering together as community and family.

This is what the Holiday Barrel Tree brings to Manila, on two significant locations – in Fuente Circle in Eastwood City and at The Fort Plaza in Bonifacio Global City. It speaks of how priceless this time of year is, not because of the rituals of gift-giving and excess, but because we come together for no reason other than gratefulness.  It tells us that above all else, gathering merrily with family, friends and loved ones is the reason for this season.

After all, it’s not what’s under the tree that matters most. It’s who’s around it.

The Jack Daniels Holiday Barrel Tree Manila event was graced by Mr. Gabriel Fajardo, Jack Daniel’s Philippine Brand Manager and Mr. Anthony Ramirez, Brown Forman Corporation Philippine Market Manager who also initiated the lighting of the first and only Jack Daniel’s Barrel Tree in Asia. Up Dharma Down presented a lively number just before the start of the ceremony.

Gather Merrily.  Drink Responsibly.
For 18 years and above ONLY. Cheers!

Transforming Lives: The Impact of SM Group's KSK Program on Filipino Farmers

Farming futures Jayson and Juanito proudly showcase a selection of produce at the SM City Clark’s Weekend Market. While modern agricultural techniques boost yields for some, there remains a number of Filipino farmers who struggle to keep pace. These experienced hands find themselves falling behind in a market demanding higher production, clinging to familiar yet often inefficient methods passed down through generations. One farmer from Pampanga, Jayson Garcia, sought to disrupt this prevailing narrative in his family. He knew that he had to chart a new course forward for his farm and innovate to remain competitive within the rapidly evolving landscape of modern agriculture. “Noon, mahirap ang magtanim,” he recalled their life before joining SM Foundation’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan. “Para bang tsambahan, basta pag itinanim mo ‘yan, hintayin mo na lang mamunga. Mas mahirap pa lalo kapag nagkaroon ng kalamidad,” he added.  SM Foundation’s training program focused on high-value crop cultiv
