Chocovron Review: Making Your Polvoron Dreams Possible

Who does not love polvoron? I presumed that most Filipinos find polvoron irresistible and at one point in time you tried making one at home in your own kitchen.

We all can agree that polvoron has been a staple to us Pinoys for hundreds of years now. First introduced by the ‘conquestadors’ during the Spanish invasion, from then on Filipinos have reinvented and tweaked the basic polvoron recipe (flour+milk+butter or margarine) into special homemade delicacies adding various ingredients to the basic mix and today Chocovron is making your every polvoron dreams come true.

CHOCOVRON Overview

Chocovron was born out of love for a truly Pinoy delicacy snack called polvoron by a husband and wife team Joey and Marissa back in 2003. What propelled them in innovating polvoron to a whole new level of taste experience is the challenge to make the ordinary polvoron into extraordinary thus they were the first to introduce the chocolate coated (covered) or chocovron polvoron.

From a humble beginning of selling among relatives and friends, now Chocovron produces thousands of packs daily and they are distributed not only locally but also in other places abroad where Pinoys are craving for deliciously and quality made polvoron snack.

CHOCOVRON REVIEW: Things I love about Chocovron

  • Quality made in a clean and world-class food processing facility that adheres to strict standards in food production. Gone are the days of guessing if the polvoron that I am eating was made with hygiene in mind, I for one would not know if what I am buying (from unknown sources) are clean and properly prepared so it is best to be safe than sorry. Good thing there is chocovron polvoron in the market which for a fact is manufactured utilizing the best techniques in processing, preparing and handling of each polvoron piece. Now I can indulge freely without fearing for my health.
  • Chocovron provides me with wide choice of flavors that amazes me. Talk about the flavors of rainbow and chocovron polvoron has more to offer than the usual variety.
  • Chocovron polvoron is each made using the finest ingredients that bring out the outstanding taste. Not only that chocovron polvoron is quality made it also incorporates the best ingredients from good quality flour, milk, local fruits and veggies. This ensures me that I get my money worth and my taste buds happy.
  • Chocovron is available in major stores and supermarkets. No need to order online- it used to be that way. But now I could easily buy my chocovron polvoron at SM Supermarkets. Yes!

Chocovron Polvoron Flavors/ Varieties:

CHOCOVRON are chocolate coated polvorons with lots of interesting flavor varieties. I personally love the dark choco one- it’s not sweet and not too bitter too- I can easily taste the delectable quality (semi-dark) chocolate coating which is just perfect to compliment the powder polvoron inside.

(FLAVORS: dark chocolate coated with pinipig, premium cookies and cream, graham pinipig, pinipig crisped rice, ube pinipig, strawberry pinipig, pandan pinipig, melon pinipig and durian pinipig.)

MANILA polvoron highlights the classic and traditional flavors. I am in love with the polvoron with mango bits and tried the ampalaya polvoron which is surprisingly not so bitter- I could not even tell if I am having bitter gourd in my mouth…simply yummy!

(FLAVORS: squash with pinipig, classic, ampalaya with pinipig, malunggay with pinipig, cashew, pinipig, cookies and cream, and assorted.)

VEGGIEVRON and NUTRIVRON offer nutritious polvoron varieties that feature local vegetables and fruits.

(FLAVORS: (veggievron- pinipig ampalaya, pinipig squash, pinipig malunggay|nutrivron- polvoron with mango bits, ampalaya polvoron, polvoron with pineapple bits, malunggay polvoron and coco cream hearts.)

RITE SNACK comes in barqueron (barquillos-yes!) choco covered stick. It offers various fillings and my favorite is the ube polvoron barqueron. It really highlights the sweet yummy purple yam flavor.

(FLAVORS: ube, melon, strawberry, classic, buko pandan and assorted.)

Where can I buy Chocovron Polvoron?

Aside from SM Supermarkets you could easily grab a box of chocovorn polovoron on these stores/outlets: Walter Mart, Mercury Drug, South Star Drug, Snack Exchange, SM Savemore, SM Hypermart, Gourdo’s, Market Market, Gaisano Grand Malls, Family Mart, Fisher Mall, Duty Free Philippines, NAIA, Foodsource, All Day Convenience Store, Ayala Center Cebu, EchoStore, Atin Ito Handicrafts, Lawson, Islands, LCC Malls, KCC, Organico Gourmet, NCC Mall Davao, Profood Gallery, Pandayan Bookshop and Vander Camiguin.

My Personal Chocovron Experience:

I am amazed to find out that there are so many choices of flavors and some really surprised me like the Malunggay, Ube, Durian, Melon and Ampalaya. Yes, you are reading this right there is an ampalaya polvoron flavor and I guess only chocovron has unique but truly Filipino polvoron flavors.

I personally loved the mango polvoron- it is very tasty and I could even munch on the tiny mango bits. The choco coated strawberry polvoron tasted yummy too. I love how the chocolate coating blended well with the flavored powder filling.

The classic pinipig polvoron is also a winner- it brings back childhood memories of my polvoron making days. Now, I don’t need to make a mess in the kitchen. I could easily grab a box of chocovron polvoron from the supermarket.

I dared tried the ampalaya polvoron for curiosity’s sake and surprisingly it was not that bitter (I don’t like eating ampalaya). I could not even tell I am eating ampalaya polvoron and I even asked the kids to eat it without me telling them what flavor it is..haha.

Overall, chocovron polvoron is by far the best way to enjoy this Pinoy delicacy snack. It is quality made, hygienically prepared, has many interesting flavors, conveniently available and great for pasalubongs too.

Transforming Lives: The Impact of SM Group's KSK Program on Filipino Farmers

Farming futures Jayson and Juanito proudly showcase a selection of produce at the SM City Clark’s Weekend Market. While modern agricultural techniques boost yields for some, there remains a number of Filipino farmers who struggle to keep pace. These experienced hands find themselves falling behind in a market demanding higher production, clinging to familiar yet often inefficient methods passed down through generations. One farmer from Pampanga, Jayson Garcia, sought to disrupt this prevailing narrative in his family. He knew that he had to chart a new course forward for his farm and innovate to remain competitive within the rapidly evolving landscape of modern agriculture. “Noon, mahirap ang magtanim,” he recalled their life before joining SM Foundation’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan. “Para bang tsambahan, basta pag itinanim mo ‘yan, hintayin mo na lang mamunga. Mas mahirap pa lalo kapag nagkaroon ng kalamidad,” he added.  SM Foundation’s training program focused on high-value cr...

A 15-Minute Tropical City in Pasay

All within 15 minutes: Urban planning concept city to rise in Pasay For the modern urban dweller, 15 minutes is a lot of time.  A lot of productive things can be done – a high-intensity, interval training (HITT) workout or run a 1.5-kilometer route, clearing your emails, meditating, catching up on the news, or preparing a quick smoothie – all within 15 minutes.  But for the Metro Manila commuter, 15 minutes is barely enough to get from point A to point B. During rush hour, it is most likely that within this time, you still haven’t moved an inch.   Ever heard of the 15-minute city? It’s a modern urban planning concept that puts people and the planet first. The term was coined by Paris-based urbanist and Sorbonne University professor Carlos Moreno wherein he said that the ideal neighborhood or city is built in such a way where work, food, housing, education and cultural activities can be easily accessed within 15 minutes, whether by foot or by using a bike.  An ...

Venue Infrastructure Challenges Concert Experience in the Philippines

Countries with better, bigger, and more competitive concert venues have reaped economic benefits, especially with the massive and significant influence of popular international acts like pop superstar Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and Coldplay’s World Tour in consumer behavior and spending.  Driving tens of thousands of ‘Swifties’ and concert enthusiasts, the success of these concerts was an economic stimulus for countries worldwide, including Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore and Japan.  Filipino fans alike had to spend big and travel miles to watch the exclusive performance of superstar Swift in Singapore’s National Stadium while others went to Japan’s Tokyo Dome and Sydney’s Accor Stadium in Australia. The massive concert gigs boosted the respective country’s economies, benefitting entertainment, hospitality, retail, and transport industries significantly. While Singapore’s strategy for a Southeast Asia exclusive Swift performance piqued interest and likewise piqued it...
