The women rule in what
could be considered as the most memorable musical awards night filled with jaw dropping
performances and emotions.
Majestic and a goddess- Beyonce took the stage by storm (photo credit Cosmopolitan) |
This year’s Grammy
Awards features a new host from the “The Late Late Show” comedian James Corden and
the spotlight is on two powerful women in the music industry Adele and Beyonce.
There is an obvious imminent showdown between these two women in a face-off for
the top 3 categories- song, record and album of the year grammy awards.
Beyonce appears as
a goddess oozing with femininity in ethereal stage performance that leaves the
audience breathless. Beyonce, perfectly nailed it and is now media’s ultimate homage
to motherhood. On the other hand, Adele showed her human side including flaws
in genuine dramatic performances.
Beyonce rendered an
amazing performance on stage singing “Love Drought” and “Sandcastles” from
album Lemonade. Towards the end of this production number, Beyonce directly
looked into the TV cam and shared this message to all women “if we’re going to
heal, let it be glorious.”
Adele opens the
night with her hit song “Hello” although a bit shaky at first but she managed
to show her vocal prowess. Her tribute to George Michael started quite awkward
that she requested to stop singing while blurting out curses over the
microphone but apologizes afterwards. She later requested to start all over
again and controlled her emotions while singing her own mellow version of
George Michael’s “Fast Love”. The audience loved it and applauded her.
There are a total of 84 Grammys to be given but the 75 grammy awards were handed before the TV coverage began.
Before the Grammy
Awards night live telecast started, Adele managed to take home two awards- best
pop solo performance for her song “Hello” and best pop vocal album for “25”.
While pregnant ‘goddess’ Beyonce took home the best music video award for the
song “Formation”.
